DOLPHIN SONG Performed by Rosalind Winters on Harp
December 6, 2010

"
When I first played the piece on harp, I could feel the energy of it. The note E seemed to change the vibration, and E means 'to act'. I could feel that clearly, the movement of that. Black Elk said that when a man or woman has a vision, the vision is not complete until he shares it with the world. That is what E felt like."

Rosalind's music is recorded on the CD Nature Spirit: www.cdbaby.com/rosalind2

SKIMMING THE SURFACE
:
June 24, 2010

"I am a Louisiana native. This land was my home through hurricanes and will be my home through the oil. I was living in Savannah, GA, when it happened. I kept up with the news and stayed in touch with my family, but the pieces just didn't seem to add up. So, an old friend and I decided to set out and collect our own footage of the damage done to the "Sportman's Paradise" only to discover that I had been watching the media distort and withhold news about the Gulf Oil Spill for more than two months.

We feel an obligation to shed light on the issues concerning The Spill that have remained in the dark with SKIMMING THE SURFACE. We interview a handful Louisianians most affected by The Spill. Once a mecca of seafood and vegetation, southern Louisiana is now black from neglect. The choking coast and marshes are worse than I could ever have imagined.

Not unlike BP, our documentary has only skimmed the surface of the devastating effects of this natural disaster; but we plan on digging deeper into the multitude of problems that the Gulf Coast region is experiencing. Once we find the funding we will uncover the truth from America's kitchen table right down to the Gulf's fragile ecosystem. Oil causes long term harm, causing problems not only to wildlife but also making people sick with respiratory and central nervous system problems and chromosome damage.  Families living in the southern part of Louisiana are at risk.

I was always told that one person can make a difference. This crisis is mightier than any one man. With our powers combined, we can ignite a desire for change, transparency, and truth. Together can we make a difference. I am not a journalist. I am a child of Plaquemines Parish and I'm asking for help.

'Never depend upon institutions or government to solve any problem. All social movements are founded by, guided by, motivated, and seen through by the passion of individuals.' (Margaret Meade)

Earth Day Message from the Dolphins

Related by Kathy Parra
April 22, 2010

Oh we are so glad to share about this day you call Earth Day, and we thank you again for inviting us into your world!

First let us view earth day as mind, body, and soul, and as sanctification to breath. See the breath as holy reverence to you and earth.
It is the vital life force energy that sustains us all. Draw on the mind to regulate the earth in such a way that it is universal, such as positive
affirmative thoughts and feelings. See the earth as exuberant, healing and whole. With each breath heighten the mind to rise in union
with you and earth. Bring into play your body in ways that celebrate the earth. Breath and yoga practice are beneficial.

Planting a pot on your back porch creates enough oxygen for the tiniest of creature, as well as home/haven to certain species.
Nurturing the body of the earth nurtures the body of yourself. Support and stimulate the soul with awareness placed in verbal exchange,
words of the heart, actions to one another that nourish human consciousness. Imagine each of you like miniature earths, each of you
taking in the vital life force energy from that which is nourishing in mind, body, and soul. When each of you are given the substance
to live from this masterpiece called life, through the way of this mind, body, and soul connection, earth existence receives the greatest
gift. It is feeding off the vital life force energy of each little earth, yes, from each of you! You are the lungs of Mother Earth. Thus creating
and spiraling a perpetual movement to Mother Earth allowing Earth to breathe off vital life force energy back into you.

We are One my children.

Happy Earth Day! With eternal love, Jag, Jewel, and dolphin pod

Oceans
for Earth Day

Diane Buccheri
April 22, 2012

A new film named Oceans to celebrate Earth Day from Disney!
From J. Nichols, author of the forthcoming book Oceans,
and a frequent contributor to OCEAN, DOLPHIN's sister magazine, "Let the images of walrus love, the beautiful swimming
blanket octopus, spider crab orgies of extraordinary magnitude, great white sharks, orcas, humpbacks, sea turtles, dugongs
feeding, and waves upon waves upon waves wash over you."

DOLPHIN SURFING

Diane Buccheri
3/9/10

I live on Hatteras Island, famous for surfing along the U.S. east coast. My neighborhood beach is one of the surfing
hot spots. Surfers come from all over the country and from other countries –– professionals, amateurs, beginners ––
all enthusiasts alike. And what a show it can be!

One day as I walked over the dune and the ocean came into view, I gasped. Dolphins surfed down the waves.
Any and all surfers I'd ever seen or possibly could ever see seemed not to be a surfer at all in comparison. And their
joy! Again and again, they caught a wave, flying along with it, flipping, diving, twisting, leaping!
